It's a mountain and a dragon, how conventional.

Ohai, this is the intro page to my wee flash game, ehehehe.

It is, as usual, not yet finished (goddamn my short attention span that demands I flick between projects to stay focused) but I want to show the type of art style I'm using for the entire game. Each slide will be done in monochrome colours with large blocks of colour for shadows and highlight. However, backgrounds and other main-focus points will have colour but only one per scene.

I have actually done a fair few scenes on flash now so I will upload those after I come back from work.

Worklog for my final logo animation.

Shortly after almost finishing the blooddrop animation, I promptly decided that I didn't like it afterall and that I wanted to start the entire project from scratch. /life.
I went through various ideas before I decided to haul up the whole water theme and settle down with something that I felt I could relate to, at least whilst sat at a computer screen, a lot more. I was going to delve in to the realms of fantasy and role playing. I drew up some ideas in my sketchpad, looking at existing fantasy logos and advertising themes to spur on my imagination.
Quite cliché examples; drgaons, swords, stones and fire - but hey, it works.

The one thing that did trigger my imagination was the old Rune Scape logo. My HAW logo (the one made up of my interlocking initials) reminded me very much of the old Swedish language that is used in modern day (albeit 'spiritual') runestones. I came up with the idea of having my HAW logo being engraved in to a 3D runestone as my logo animation.

I started off with a cartoon-ised runestone, but upon completion of the animation ended up swapping it out for  a 3D pebble that I made in Photoshop using this youtube tutorial.

Messing around on flash is too pro.

One of our lab sessions was to do with 3D mapping on to buildings. The real thing is cool, but my attempt at something on flash was a giggle. I didn't really know what to do with my building so I just made pretty vines grow along the bricks. It's kinda crappy but I thought I'd upload it anyway. ;D

Blooddrop Animation

This is the start of my blooddrop animation. It's animated frame-by-frame and due to my irritating perfectionist nature it's taking forever. I'll be changing the colour scheme to blue-grey to relate it to water, and the plan is to have the water merge in to my logo, perhaps with a camera change.

Interactive Billboard - Key Frames

Expanding from my idea for my interactive billboard I started designing the key frames for the water animation. I'm portraying the water in a very stylised, tropical way to make the animation aspect easier. My logo remains stationary in the top left hand corner for maximum impact.
